How to improve your trading performance.
Investing is a difficult game to master. In the end, it all comes down to your belief in an idea and your ability to execute. Luckily for you, there are a few things that can be done to improve your trading performance.
Here are a few tips to help improve your trading performance:
1. Work on your mindset everyday:
It is important to stay positive during trades and think of successful trades as a result of your decisions and not the result of luck. A lot of times we fall into the trap of thinking we know what the market will do next, when in reality it was our inner voice guiding us through the process. This is how we build confidence in our decisions and how we learn from mistakes.
Work hard on developing your mindset and it will pay off in the long run.
2. Use a stop loss to protect capital:
The best way to minimize losses is by using stop loss orders. When you use stops you can be more flexible with your take profits, which allows you to get in or out earlier if needed. It's also easier psychologically because you never see a loss greater than 10%. You can avoid getting greedy and continue trading knowing that if price doesn't work out for you, at least you won't lose more than 10%.
3. Having a mentor is key to achieving success in your life and investment.
I’m one of the lucky ones who grew up with a father who taught me about the importance of saving money, working hard and investing wisely. He taught me these lessons while running his own business and even during my teenage years when I wouldn’t listen. One day, I was browsing through his bookshelf and found a book called “How Rich People Think” by Steve Siebold. Instantly, I knew this book would change my life forever. This book opened my eyes and truly made me realize that if you want to build wealth, you must think like rich people think! The book talks about how rich people think only of assets while poor people think only of liabilities. It also discusses how success is measured by what you DO rather than what you SAY or what you INTEND TO DO!
